Kasey Kahne unveils his 2014 paint scheme.

Kasey Kahne became the second Cup driver to "officially" unveil his 2014 paint scheme. He unveiled the new look around 5:00 PM at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Mid-way through the 2013 season, Kahne's sponsor, Farmers Insurance, decided to change their logo to a more modern look, hence the reason for the new colors in 2014. For instance, here is the old Farmers logo compared to the new one...

The #5 Chevy SS still has the same scheme design as his current car, but with different colors to better accommodate the new logo.

Farmers joined Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, joining driver Kasey Kahne in his first year with the team, driving the #5 Chevrolet. It will be three years in a row that we see yet another scheme, although the design still remains very similar, especially on the bottom base of the scheme, under the number. Here is a timeline of Kahne's Farmers Insurance schemes from 2012-2014:

Kahne's timeline of Farmers Insurance paint schemes starting with 2012 at the top to today's unveiling on the bottom. Note that the 2014 car is the only scheme to have the Farmers "insignia" on the hood and not just the text.

In my opinion, out of all the Farmers Insurance #5 schemes, the 2014 has to be my favorite. It best suits the logo, but there is one tiny logo placement that bothers me and it's the FARMERS on the side panel. To me, it looks to crooked and angled. It should be straight like the 2013 car, but keeping the size it has on the 2014 car. If they fixed that, the scheme would be perfect.

Kasey Kahne will drive the 2014 #5 Farmers Chevy SS onto the Daytona International Speedway during Speedweeks in February next year.
